Faster, Higher, Stronger – Together
This is the motto for 2021 Olympics, and it is what guides the Matoaka Olympics as 6 countries compete for the bronze, silver, and gold. The Matoaka Olympics opened with an authentic dance by our support staff from Mexico representing their country’s history and culture. Their costumes were made in sewing and hours were spent in the dance studio together rehearsing for an unforgettable opening!
Olympics is an all-camp event for campers and counselors. The first event was our version of “capture the flag”. Two countries at a time faced off against one another trying to guard their flags and attempt to get their opponents flags.
Canada took the bronze, Spain the silver, and America the gold. more events are coming up like powder puff football, Kubb, European handball, a track meet, synchronized swimming, artistic gymnastics, and more!
One camp – One cohort!
We welcomed our second session campers to One Great Place and after two rounds of testing we have been cleared to run the rest of the summer as one camp – one cohort! Our Second Session families did an exceptional job ensuring their girls were healthy before entering the Matoaka bubble. We can’t thank everyone enough for their diligence and help in making this comeback summer one of our best!
