Matoaka offers three overnight summer camp sessions: one 7-week session, two 3 ½ week sessions for girls ages 7-15 , and one 2-week
experience for campers under the age of 10 (perfect for first-time or rookie campers).
Rich Traditions
This summer we are celebrating our 70th anniversary in camping. Our traditions stretch back four generations, making going to Matoaka a truly unique and unforgettable experience..
Geographic Diversity
The lure of Maine extends beyond the Northeast. Matoaka attracts campers from all over the country, as well as overseas. We have campers from 26 different states and 10 different countries.
Top-Notch Facilities
Matoaka sits on over a mile and half of waterfront footage. Our facilities are constantly being updated. And, we are one of the few camps in Maine with a heated swimming pool and 450 seat theater for evening activities.
Experienced Staff
In every camper cabin, we have a former camper turned counselor, and our return rate is over 65% for bunk staff. Our youngest bunk staff is 19 years old. The average age of our bunk staff is 22 years old.
Intercamp Competition
Every week we offer our campers the opportunity to compete against other camps in team sports. Matoaka is a proud member of the CMGL (Central Maine Girls League). We compete against Camp Laurel, Camp Vega, Camp Mataponi, and other great camps in Maine.
Camp Matoaka is my favorite place! I'm going back this summer for my second year as a counselor. Jason, Leslie, and the other office staff really go above and beyond for the campers, staff, and anyone else at camp. I'm not exaggerating at all when I say that working here was the best decision I ever made. If you're thinking about sending your kids here or coming to work here, definitely do it.
