Smiling Through The RainIt may have taken all day, but it was worth the wait. The sun finally came out!
Campers spent the day doing alternative rainy day activities. There were campers baking cookies, playing gym games, and painting plaques. Then, before lunch, the College League teams gathered together for the first time. It didn’t take long for the teams to bond and write cheers for their new teams. Apparently, the Pandas have a lot of Kung-Fu action happening with their team cheers!
After lunch we had a different set of rainy day activities. Bunks 8 through 10 got to travel off-camp to go bowling, while Bunks 11 and 12 went to the movies to see “Brave”. The movie was fantastic, and it was a great compliment to what camp is all about, spirited young women standing up for what they believe in!
Then, after dinner, the sun finally made an appearance! So we held an evening General Rec, where campers got to visit whichever activity they wanted! It was great to see everyone making the most of the fantastic weather, and playing tennis, kayaking, sewing, jumping off the pamper pole, and swimming!
The oldest girls were treated to a “bunk night out”, so Bunk 14 had dinner at Applebee’s, while Bunk 15 went to Super China Buffet, both local Waterville establishments. They returned to camp with full bellies and gigantic smiles.
The forecast for tomorrow is more sun and more smiles! We’re ready!
