Send in the Clowns!

Posted June 14, 2012 • Share: It was a circus at Matoaka last night, literally! We welcomed the arrival of the entire 2012 staff, by throwing a circus-themed dinner. Llion tamers, tightrope walkers, clowns and even a set of Siamese twins present at Matoaka! We gathered on the lawn by the flag pole, in full costume, and shared appetizers and played games! Then we moved into the Big Top (which was really our Dining Hall in disguise) and feasted on all our favorite circus snacks! We were treated to cotton candy, corn dogs, popcorn, burgers, and more! Our Events Coordinator, Molly, did a superb job at putting this all together.

Afterwards, we gathered in the Performing Arts Center for a fantastic welcome from Jason SIlberman. The entire staff was formally introduced to the Office Staff and Department Heads who performed entertaining dances and skits, as part of our Mini-Counselor Show. We all got chills when the HODs reconvened onstage to perform a large group dance to conclude the show. Their enthusiasm was infectious, and if this is any indication of how the rest of the summer will unfold, it will certainly be one of the best yet!
