Dear Mom & Dad, Camp Is Great!
On Saturday, we enjoyed our second social of the summer! Bunks 8, 9, and 10 enjoyed a pool party and even had an ice cream truck come right here to Matoaka! Bunks 12 and 13 made their way to Caribou for a social, while the 14's and Queen's stayed at camp to host Caribou's 14's and 15's during a social here. The 13's and 15's social was a themed pajama party, some of the girls showed up in onsies and all sorts of silly PJ's. We had a blast!
Sunday started out with a "lazy breakfast" featuring Dunkin' Donuts, which we loved! After breakfast the junior girls got to show their skills that they've acquired through their swim lessons in the Matoaka Cove Swim. It's about a 1/4 mile swim in East Pond. Essentially, it's the junior version of our Matoaka Island Swim which will be held later this summer for the inters and seniors, and it's about 1.5 miles. The swim path was scattered with Lake Patrol, an assortment of lifeguards and counselors in kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, and a jet ski all to ensure the safety of these swimmers. They signed up voluntarily and did a fantastic job. Yay Juniors!
Sunday was the College League Swim Meet! The whole camp got together at the pool to cheer on their respective College League teams in a series of relay races. Some of us swam a 100m freestyle and a 25m tennis ball nose push. The tennis ball nose push race is so funny, we literally push a tennis ball only using our noses.
