Be Our Guest!“Ma chère mademoiselle. It is with deepest pride and greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight. And now, we invite you to relax, let us pull up a chair, as the dining room proudly presents... your dinner.”
Last night, the Theater Department welcomed the rest of camp to be their guests to enjoy the final theatrical performance of the summer, the classic Disney musical “Beauty and the Beast”. This magical show enchanted the audience as we followed the story of Belle and her realization that true beauty lies within the heart and not to judge on outward appearances. Earlier that day, our Queen campers were treated to a special trip off-camp to have breakfast at Maine’s best deli, “Big G’s!” This fantastic restaurant is known for it’s large portion sizes and homemade bread. The campers came back raving at how much fun they had and how great the food was! This morning was exciting for our younger campers, they got to participate in our first ever “Matoaka Cove Swim”. For the campers that were at least a level 3 swimmer and had been practicing for a few weeks, they were able to complete the ½ mile swim this morning before breakfast. We had over 40 girls swim, and they all did a fantastic job! The lake was patrolled by staff members and lifeguards in boats, kayaks, canoes and paddleboards. It was a hugely successful event that we look forward to repeating next year! Tomorrow we will hold the larger Matoaka Island Swim!
